Welcome To My World

As you might have guessed my name is Anuket, I also go by Abul and Anuk. I was born on Friday, November 17th 1978 in Mumbai (Bombay), India. I lived right next to Juhu Beach in Santacruz for almost eighteen years and then I headed to Bangor, Maine (four hours north of Boston), USA and went to school at the University of Maine in Orono. Maine is very beautiful place and I enjoyed my seven years there. In 2003 I moved to Huntington Beach (Orange County), California.

I was married to my lovely wife Carleena Stovall now Carleena Bhaduri on October 4th 2003 in Orono. She is also a UMaine graduate in Education and Psychology. We have a beautiful daughter Aanyah and a precious son Travan. We all look forward to many happy years together. I have one little sister Tanuka, who is a pest (just kidding, she is the sweetest thing in the world). My mom Dr. Esha Bhaduri is the absolute greatest, she is a Professor of Economics and the Vice Principal of  L.S. Raheja College of Arts and Commerce (Santacruz West, Mumbai). Unfortunately my dad, the late Mr. UdayKumar Bhaduri is no longer with us, but his memories will stay with me forever. My grandmother Dr. Susmita Chatterjee continues to amaze the world through hard work and resiliency, she teaches at Husson Business College in Bangor, Maine). Also my Aunt and Uncle, who live in Calcutta, India deserve a very special mention.

I love almost all sports, but cricket is the absolute obsession. And since I lived near Boston, I'm quite attached to the Boston sports scene. I actively follow the Boston RedSox, Celtics, Bruins, New England Revolution and the New England Patriots. Of course I also follow the University of Maine Blackbears and the National Champion Hockey team. As far as playing sports goes, I play cricket, tennis, softball, badminton, chess, etc...

Besides sports I love watching television and movies. My favourite TV show of all time is Seinfeld. I have way too many movies to go over, but a few notable movies are Braveheart, My Cousin Vinny, Dumb and Dumber, etc... As for music my favourite band is Aerosmith and I attended their concert in Boston, it was as fabulous as I had expected it to be. Boy they really put on a great show. Food is another one of my great passions, actually this should have been at the top of the list. I like to eat just about everything from home cooked meals to street side foods. Not to mention, lately I have become a pretty decent cook (a little bragging is ok, isn't it ?). Traveling is another thing very high on my list. So far I have actually seen only three countries (excluding transit points), but I hope to visit many more in the future. And I know this may sound geeky and immature, but I still collect stamps, read comic books. I'm more of a night person and a reasonable party animal, but I don't really mind morning either.
